SEO

What is click-through rate (CTR)?

Click-through rate (CTR) is the percentage of impressions that turn into clicks: the clicks a page gets in search results divided by the number of times it was shown.

What it means

CTR shows how compelling your title and description are in the SERP. Ranking position, other SERP features, and the intent behind the query all affect it too.

How to use it

Benchmark CTR against pages that rank in a similar position for similar queries. A noticeably lower rate is a signal to refresh the title and meta description.
